Techub News reports, according to Cointelegraph, BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo has pledged a £20 million donation to the London Institute for Mathematical Sciences. The donation includes an upfront payment of $13.3 million, with another $13.3 million to be released after the institute matches the amount through additional fundraising. This is one of the largest private donations ever received by a UK research institution outside Oxford and Cambridge, and will be used to help the institute establish an $80 million endowment fund to secure its long-term development.
Techub News reported that BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes posted on Platform X that Flop Labs will launch the FLOP testnet in a few weeks. The project aims to build a blockchain where AI agents rent computing power, and the agents need to use FLOP tokens to pay for model inference or data storage fees. Miners (GPU owners) earn block rewards and most of the inference fees by executing real AI tasks, while verifiers are responsible for confirming the completion of the work. The testnet will undergo a 90-day trial run, during which miners, verifiers, and AI agents must participate to receive a share of the genesis airdrop. Miners can only earn points through verified computations, and verifiers will compete for 1,000 mainnet seats based on their testnet rankings. The project has no presale or venture capital allocation, and Hayes stated that he funded the team himself. (BeInCrypto)
Techub News reports that Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, stated at Korea Blockchain Week 2026 that currently no digital currency, including Bitcoin and stablecoins, can truly serve as the "native currency" for AI Agents. He believes that the currency used by Agents should be able to directly and transparently exchange for the computational power required for their survival. Hayes is promoting a new project, Flop Network, which aims to establish a computational power spot and payment network for AI Agents, using FLOP as the native currency and connecting Agents with GPU computational power providers through verifiable AI inference tasks. The project is still in its early stages. (Wu Blockchain)
Techub News reports that in response to a user's claim that "Binance was the most profitable trading entity on the BitMEX platform, earning over 60,000 bitcoins by hedging client positions during the crash on March 12, 2020," Zhao Changpeng stated, "They are now purely fabricating stories. I don't know what their purpose is. Binance has never traded on BitMEX, and Arthur Hayes should know that. To my knowledge, BitMEX only processes withdrawals once per day."
