Arthur Hayes: Existing Digital Currencies Cannot Meet the Needs of AI Agents

Techub News reports that Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, stated at Korea Blockchain Week 2026 that currently no digital currency, including Bitcoin and stablecoins, can truly serve as the "native currency" for AI Agents. He believes that the currency used by Agents should be able to directly and transparently exchange for the computational power required for their survival. Hayes is promoting a new project, Flop Network, which aims to establish a computational power spot and payment network for AI Agents, using FLOP as the native currency and connecting Agents with GPU computational power providers through verifiable AI inference tasks. The project is still in its early stages. (Wu Blockchain)
