Putin Calls Musk a Genius, Both Maintain Close Contact on Russia's Starlink Alternative

Techub News reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at the Russia-Africa summit held in Moscow that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is a "genius," and revealed that both sides are maintaining "close contact" regarding the development of Russia's Starlink alternative "Rassvet." Putin mentioned that Musk already has over 5,000 satellites in orbit, while Russia has only just taken its first steps. Putin stated that both parties place great importance on not interfering with each other in orbit and adhering to the rules, and despite political issues, they continue to work closely with Mr. Musk. Rassvet is a low Earth orbit satellite internet constellation constructed by the Russian private aerospace company Bureau 1440. SpaceX operates the Starlink constellation with over 11,000 satellites, providing high-speed internet access to 174 countries. SpaceX did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.
