Saga updates the progress of the SagaEVM security incident, will repair and strengthen cross-chain and deployment components.

Techub News reports that on January 21, Saga identified and responded to a security incident affecting the SagaEVM chain. The incident involved a coordinated sequence of contract deployments, cross-chain operations, and subsequent liquidity extraction. Out of an abundance of caution, SagaEVM has been paused at block height 6,593,800. Approximately $7 million worth of USDC, yUSD, ETH, and tBTC was transferred to the Ethereum mainnet. Saga stated that it is collaborating with exchanges and cross-chain bridge platforms to blacklist the relevant attack addresses and facilitate asset recovery, while also repairing and reinforcing the affected cross-chain and deployment components. This incident did not involve a consensus mechanism failure, validator compromise, or private key leakage.
