Google Expands AI Search Ads Globally; Core Search Ad Growth Slows

Techub News reports that Google announced the expansion of its AI search experience ads to international markets. Google's Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler stated during the earnings call that the company is expanding high-quality ads in the AI overview to more users and queries, and for the first time, is extending monetization globally, including launching AI mode ads in international markets and multi-round conversational ads in the United States. Google said early data shows these ad formats perform well; click-through rates for sponsored product listings in AI mode are comparable to natural listings. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that queries in AI mode are on average three times longer than traditional search, and globally, one-fifth of AI mode searches involve voice, image, or documents. Alphabet's third-quarter revenue was $127.6 billion, up 25% year-on-year. Among them, Google Services (including Search) revenue was $96.3 billion, up 11% year-on-year; Google Cloud revenue was $30.7 billion, up 103% year-on-year. However, the core search advertising business growth continues to slow down, with a 12% year-on-year growth in the third quarter, lower than the previous two quarters. (TechCrunch)
