Techub News, OP Labs, the development team of Optimism, has announced the achievement of benchmark result reproducibility, reducing load test volatility from 42% to below 1% through technical improvements. The team utilized the open-source transaction generator contender to build testing tools, supporting performance verification of any EVM-compatible RPC endpoint. This improvement eliminates test variability factors such as hardware types and network latency by unifying chain configurations and optimizing the testing tool contender as well as the internal op-benchmark. The team stated that reproducible benchmarks are crucial for accurately measuring blockchain sustained throughput and identifying true performance bottlenecks, helping to avoid wasting time chasing false signals during software optimization processes.
