Techub News, OP Labs, the development team of Optimism, has announced the achievement of benchmark result reproducibility, reducing load test volatility from 42% to below 1% through technical improvements. The team utilized the open-source transaction generator contender to build testing tools, supporting performance verification of any EVM-compatible RPC endpoint. This improvement eliminates test variability factors such as hardware types and network latency by unifying chain configurations and optimizing the testing tool contender as well as the internal op-benchmark. The team stated that reproducible benchmarks are crucial for accurately measuring blockchain sustained throughput and identifying true performance bottlenecks, helping to avoid wasting time chasing false signals during software optimization processes.
Techub News reports that Optimism has announced the launch of its managed blockchain infrastructure, OP Enterprise. OP Enterprise offers three service tiers, including a fully managed model, a self-managed model (user-operated with official support), and an OP Mainnet model (starting from the public network and upgrading to a proprietary chain when the time is right), and will be deployed within 8-12 weeks.
Techub News reports that the Optimism Foundation has passed an OP buyback proposal. This proposal authorizes the initiation of a 12-month plan, which will allocate 50% of Superchain revenue to repurchasing OP tokens; the buyback program will commence in February, and the repurchased tokens, along with the remaining ETH from the sequencer, will flow back into the Collective Treasury. Furthermore, the foundation will collaborate with over-the-counter trading providers to execute monthly ETH-to-OP conversions.
Techub News reports that the Optimism Foundation has initiated a new proposal, suggesting the implementation of a 12-month plan starting in February. The plan proposes to allocate 50% of the Superchain's revenue (including Base, Unichain, World Chain, etc.) to repurchase OP. Over the past 12 months, Optimism generated revenue of 5,868 ETH. Based on this calculation, approximately 2,934 ETH would be used for the repurchase. The repurchased OP will be deposited into the collective treasury and may be used in the future for burning, ecosystem incentives, or rewarding token holders who participate in network security. Additionally, the proposal includes authorizing the Foundation to flexibly manage the remaining Ethereum treasury assets to generate returns, enhance liquidity, and support the Superchain ecosystem.
Techub News, Base Build tweeted that the Base mainnet will undergo the Optimism superchain U16A upgrade from 1:00 to 3:00 Hong Kong time on October 8. This upgrade will temporarily invalidate pending withdrawals from the Base mainnet to Ethereum L1. Deposits and on-chain activities will proceed as usual, and this invalidation will not pose any risk to any ETH or ERC-20 tokens. Users must ensure all pending withdrawal transactions are completed before 1:00 on October 8. Any unfinished withdrawal transactions need to be re-verified after the upgrade is completed.
Techub News reports that OP Enterprise now supports Soneium's on-chain operations. The Optimism Foundation and OP Labs will provide Soneium with deployment, upgrades, sequencers, node infrastructure, daily monitoring, and incident response support under a fully managed model. They have set a monthly uptime target of 99.9% and a 24/7 emergency response through a service level agreement. Soneium retains ownership of its blockchain, roadmap control, and engineering participation. The team will continue to advance tokenized intellectual property and on-chain entertainment applications, including on-chain royalty distribution and AI-oriented intellectual property tools. Techub News reports, according to The Defiant, that Japanese trading house Mitsui & Co.'s subsidiary MDC has announced the deployment of its tokenized gold, silver, and platinum asset Zipangcoin (ZPG) to OP Mainnet. ZPG has been issued under Japan's regulatory framework since 2022 and currently operates on the private chain Miyabi. Additionally, the Japanese exchange GMO Coin will list ZPG on April 20.
Techub News reports that ether.fi announced on platform X that it has successfully completed the full migration to the OP mainnet. This migration covers 70,000 active debit cards, over 300,000 accounts, and a total locked value exceeding $220 million.
Techub News, according to CryptoBriefing, Upbit operator Dunamu has partnered with the Optimism Foundation to build GIWA Chain based on the OP Stack and include it within the OP Enterprise framework. The chain has processed nearly 100 million testnet transactions and is expected to launch on mainnet soon. Under this framework, Upbit will control the main sequencer and core network decisions, while Optimism provides institutional-grade support and a backup sequencer. Dunamu Chief Operating Officer Minseok Jung stated that operating the chain independently is a strategic move aimed at providing institutional and retail users with performance and compliance levels consistent with its existing platform.
