Finally, a project team doesn't treat TGE merely as a "finish line" to hastily wrap things up.
1) Its TGE "story" is quite unique—there is no specific date, but rather it triggers only after the network ecosystem achieves certain KPIs. Doesn't this seem particularly "refreshing" in an era where altcoins are clustered just for token issuance?
haha, it could of course also be seen as a "dignified" way to describe constantly delaying TGE without finding the right timing, but anyway, finally a project team doesn't treat TGE merely as a "finish line" to hastily wrap things up;
2) In the current market where Ethereum layer2 general-purpose chains have lost their appeal, it's hard to give MegaETH a reasonable positioning. If you call it a pure layer2, the project team would surely be unhappy; if you call it a high-performance layer1, the relationship with the Ethereum mainnet and how to foster ecological reciprocity becomes awkward. In fact, they want to be Ethereum's Solana or Hyperliquid, but judging by @VitalikButerin
intentions, the Ethereum mainnet will stick to security, and as for how the expansion layer plays out, the mainnet has the will but can no longer support it.
So I'm more inclined to see it as a brand-new experiment within the Ethereum ecosystem—a real-time public chain scaling on the security of the mainnet, aiming to maximize execution layer performance and expand beyond DeFi to enable high-frequency application scenarios like gaming and social networking. Therefore, whether its emergence is important depends entirely on how you position it. Stay calm and keep a little anticipation;
3) Here's the question: why is real-time processing capability so important? The answer is actually quite simple. In the past, the blockchain ecosystem has hardly produced any standout applications beyond DeFi. Promising cutting-edge scenarios like gaming, social networks, and high-frequency trading have been hyped round after round, but what's the result? After most users have actually experienced them, they find them unremarkable—just another narrative pie in the sky.
This shows that no public chain has truly achieved real-time execution processing capability. You can imagine how thirsty the market is for a technical public chain with real-time processing ability. Whether it's MegaETH or not, I don't know, but the market really needs it. At this critical juncture, it's sounding the loudest charge—let's just see what happens;
4) I started researching applications on the MegaETH ecosystem a few months ago, just curious about what an innovative application should really look like. Let me briefly share my impressions.
Euphoria attempts to turn options trading into a gamified operation of tapping grids on a phone, predicting price movements based on ultra-fast timeframes—very young and alternative, with full innovation potential. Biomes is a fully on-chain Minecraft-like sandbox, at the MMORPG level, featuring genuine multiplayer real-time interaction, mining, crafting, PVP, etc. A mech PVP arena with real-money betting battles combined with RNG/RPG elements, and discussions about integrating AI Agents into the game. While watching a live sports match, you can perform one-click real-time trading of fantasy cards (repriced instantly based on goals, injuries, VAR moments), attempting to merge sports live streaming with DeFi.
In short, there are some distinctive features here. At least in the current landscape where apps on existing chains are just copycatting each other, these are new interaction paradigms that only real-time performance can unlock. I think it can attract some innovative maverick developers and incubate some fresh and fun applications. Innovation, once a proud "capability" of Crypto, has become scarce—we must encourage every opportunity for innovation!
That's all.
As for the reasonableness of the FDV valuation, or the profit and loss from the initial NFT investments and public sales, I won't comment further here. haha, a friend said my NFT could earn at least a 1x return. Hopefully, it's a plump rabbit—let's see tomorrow.
