On April 22, 2026, at the Ethereum Applications Meetup held on the main stage of the Hong Kong Web3 Carnival, the Ethereum Applications Guild (EAG) officially announced its launch.

As the Ethereum ecosystem infrastructure gradually matures, the industry's focus is rapidly shifting toward the application layer. The Ethereum Applications Guild (EAG), as a global non-profit collaborative organization, is dedicated to driving innovation, adoption, and real-world impact of native Ethereum applications.
EAG Operating Model
By collaborating with various stakeholders in the ecosystem, EAG is building a global network focused on open-source tools, shared infrastructure, and the long-term sustainability of the Ethereum application layer.
EAG operates as an ecosystem-driven organization and does not rely on any single entity. Upholding the core values of openness and decentralization, EAG's key priorities include:
- Accelerating real-world application development;
- Connecting cross-disciplinary builder networks;
- Supporting shared evaluation and development frameworks;
- Establishing sustainable funding mechanisms.
Under this framework, EAG has built an execution system centered on entrepreneur-oriented acceleration programs, shared evaluation infrastructure, and global builder education, further supported by regional showcase events, co-location with major ecosystem activities, and structured communication support for builders, ensuring impactful work receives the exposure and support it deserves.
Establishing Sustainable Funding Mechanisms
To support the long-term development of the Ethereum application ecosystem, EAG establishes sustainable funding mechanisms through the following two primary avenues:
- Member Contributions: Non-public companies pay annual membership fees tiered by valuation, market capitalization, or Assets Under Management (AUM). Public companies pay a fixed annual membership fee.
- Staking Yield Contributions: ETH holders can choose to donate a portion of their staking rewards to the EAG Contribution Pool, which supports the development of the Ethereum application ecosystem. The EAG Contribution Pool, built in collaboration between EAG and HashKey Cloud, the infrastructure platform under HashKey Group, will be launched soon.
Launch of the 2026 Global Applications & Builders Program
As part of its overall strategy, EAG has simultaneously launched the "2026 Global Applications & Builders Program," aimed at providing a structured support framework for developers in emerging and underrepresented regions.
From May to September 2026, the Applications & Builders Program will be carried out in regions including Latin America, Africa, Oceania, and India, strengthening local developer communities and fostering regional developer and application growth through developer education, hackathons and selection competitions, as well as academic and research conferences.
Outstanding teams and individuals from each region will be invited to participate in the 2026 Shanhaiguan Residency Program held in Hong Kong and Mumbai in October for further development and collaboration, and will engage with the global Ethereum ecosystem community during the Devcon developer conference.
Join EAG
At a critical inflection point for Ethereum application adoption, EAG invites developers, institutions, and ecosystem participants to join the collaborative network to advance the next phase of the Ethereum application ecosystem.
