Singapore, November 14, 2025. DigiFT, a regulated, institution-focused digital asset exchange for Real World Assets (RWAs), and SBI Holdings, one of Japan's largest financial groups, today jointly announced the establishment of a joint venture, SBI Onchain, to accelerate the adoption of on-chain finance applications in Japan and global markets.
SBI Onchain will focus on building the necessary technological, legal, and regulatory foundations for bringing institutional-grade RWAs on-chain and connecting the Japanese capital market with the global digital asset ecosystem.
Core Pillars of SBI Onchain:
RWA Tokenization and Regulatory Infrastructure: Develop RWA tokenization technology, establish a robust risk management framework, and compliant legal structures to enable Japanese Real World Assets (RWAs) to circulate on-chain and connect with the global on-chain capital market.
Product Innovation and Global Collaboration: Collaborate with leading global asset managers and hedge funds to create RWA-based yield opportunities that meet institutional requirements.
Regulatory Engagement and Public Chain Standards: Promote the adoption of on-chain financial services by actively engaging with regulators and developing compliant, institutional-grade smart contract infrastructure on public blockchains.
As the first on-chain exchange licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), DigiFT holds both the Recognised Market Operator (RMO) and Capital Markets Services (CMS) licenses. The company possesses deep expertise and proven experience in the tokenization of regulated funds and securities. Its infrastructure supports the issuance, secondary trading, and redemption of tokenized financial instruments in a licensed environment, thereby bridging the gap between traditional finance and on-chain markets.
Additionally, DigiFT's Hong Kong entity has been granted licenses for Type 1 (dealing in securities) and Type 4 (advising on securities) regulated activities by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong.
The SBI Group has built an integrated financial ecosystem encompassing securities, banking, and insurance. Concurrently, in the Web3 domain, the SBI Group is constructing a digital asset ecosystem with capabilities including crypto assets, security tokens, and stablecoins. By integrating these ecosystems, the SBI Group has become one of the world's leading institutions, uniquely positioned to drive the rapid transition to the next-generation financial system—on-chain finance.
Yoshitaka Kitao, Representative Director, Chairman, President & CEO of SBI Holdings, said, "Through SBI Onchain, we will strengthen Japan's role as a leader in digital asset innovation. Leveraging DigiFT's licensed on-chain infrastructure and our financial ecosystem, we will work to advance the integration of physical assets with blockchain technology and accelerate the transition to a global on-chain economy."
Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO of DigiFT, said, "SBI Onchain is a significant step towards bringing institutional finance on-chain. Combining SBI's financial leadership with DigiFT's regulatory-compliant infrastructure, we aim to support compliant cross-border tokenized business operations that can scale across markets."
Through the collaboration with SBI Onchain, DigiFT extends its compliant tokenization framework and smart contract infrastructure to Japan, supporting SBI in conducting regulated digital asset distribution and cross-border RWA connectivity. Following collaborations with other major global financial institutions and technology partners, this move also marks DigiFT's continued expansion of its regulated on-chain finance business across Asia.
