UBS announced on November 4, 2025, the successful implementation of the world's first end-to-end tokenized fund workflow completed in a production environment, utilizing the Chainlink Digital Transfer Agent technology standard.
This success completed the first on-chain subscription and redemption requests for a money market investment product based on Ethereum distributed ledger technology — the "UBS USD Money Market Fund Token," demonstrating how fund operations can achieve seamless automation on-chain, thereby enhancing efficiency and utility. In this live transaction, DigiFT, acting as the on-chain fund distributor, successfully requested and processed a subscription and redemption order using the DTA standard.
This new end-to-end tokenized fund workflow can cover all stages of the fund lifecycle, including order reception, execution, settlement, and data synchronization between all on-chain and off-chain systems.
Mike Dargan, Group Chief Operating and Technology Officer at UBS, said: "This transaction is a key milestone, showcasing how smart contract-based technology and technical standards can enhance fund operations and investor experience. As the industry continues to embrace tokenized finance, this achievement illustrates how these innovations drive higher operational efficiency and open new possibilities for product composability. Through our UBS Tokenize program, we are committed to fostering innovation and leveraging our deep expertise to support the development of digital strategies and products that meet our clients' evolving needs."
Sergey Nazarov, Co-Founder of Chainlink, said: "I am very excited to announce this industry milestone together with UBS and DigiFT. In this cross-chain transaction, Chainlink provided support for tokenized fund transactions in a production environment. This achieves a secure, compliant, and scalable end-to-end workflow for tokenized assets, setting a new benchmark for institutional finance on-chain. As one of the world's most important financial institutions, UBS is now leveraging Chainlink to expand its digital asset capabilities while maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards. This significant milestone demonstrates how traditional finance can transition to an on-chain environment with the reliability and efficiency required by the industry."
"As an uMINT-authorized on-chain fund distributor, our collaboration with UBS demonstrates how fund operations can be executed and reconciled on-chain with real-time visibility," said Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO of DigiFT. "Utilizing the Chainlink DTA technology standard enables seamless subscription and redemption workflows that integrate directly with institutional custody."
