Dubai Commercial Bank will enter the CBMT Sandbox to test corporate cross-border payments, trade settlement, funds management, and working capital optimization along the Europe-Gulf corridor. CBMT is driven by the German banking industry, with participants including Commerzbank, UniCredit, BNP Paribas, and ABN AMRO. Its core involves tokenizing commercial bank deposits for on-chain settlement, with related assets still accounted for on the balance sheet of the issuing bank, differing from stablecoins issued outside the banking system.
