Techub News reports, according to an announcement from the Aave governance community, Aave Labs has officially launched the AI-powered governance security system Aave Checkpoint. This system aims to add a structured, multi-dimensional security review process for each Aave DAO proposal (AIP) and its execution payload before formal on-chain execution.
Techub News reported, according to The Block, Aave Labs disclosed the Reinvestment Module plan in its V4 upgrade. Data shows that of the approximately $20 billion in stablecoin deposits on the Aave platform, about $6 billion (accounting for 30%) has been in a long-term idle state. This module will automatically allocate excess reserves to governance-approved low-risk strategies (such as short-term treasury bonds, money markets, or delta-neutral trading), while keeping funds withdrawable at any time without lock-up restrictions.
Techub News reports that Aave Labs has proposed launching a dedicated bug bounty program for the Aave V4 version. This program will be hosted on the security platform Sherlock, aiming to establish a security reporting channel for Aave V4, equipped with a tiered processing mechanism to reduce spam reports, prioritize high-risk vulnerabilities, and expedite the handling process. Sherlock has previously collaborated with Aave contributors on early security work for Aave V3 and V4, and has established shared standards for reporting, classification, and escalation work.
Techub News reports that Aave Labs has appointed Linda Jeng as Chief Legal and Policy Officer. Aave founder Stani Kulechov stated, "Linda has been a voice in the DeFi space since DeFi Summer, with previous roles at the Federal Reserve Board, Financial Stability Board, U.S. Treasury, and SEC, bringing deep policy experience."
Techub News reported, according to The Block, Aave Labs has published a proposal to transfer 100% of the revenue from all Aave-branded products to the Aave DAO treasury in exchange for operational funding. Specifically, Aave Labs plans to direct all revenue from Aave-branded products—including swap fees from Aave v3 and the upcoming v4 protocol, earnings from the aave.com frontend, and other future business lines like the Aave Card and AAVE ETF—entirely into the Aave DAO treasury. It also proposes establishing a new Aave Foundation to hold the Aave trademark and intellectual property. In exchange, it requests the DAO to commit $25 million in stablecoins and 75,000 AAVE to cover operational expenses, along with applying for five grants of $3 million each for the development and marketing of Aave App, Aave Pro, and Aave Card, plus $2.5 million for Aave Kit. Aave Labs stated that the v4 architecture will enable revenue models difficult to achieve in previous versions, with plans to gradually adjust v3 parameters 8-12 months after v4's launch to guide migration. The proposal also requests the DAO to coordinate v4 development with Labs and to pause new feature development for v3. Aave Chan Initiative founder Marc Zeller expressed opposition to this. Zeller called it a "cash grab disguised as goodwill," alleging that Labs is using an aggressive proposal as a bargaining chip, "trying to impose an outcome regardless of the governance process." He estimated Labs' actual funding request to be around $50 million and questioned its governance legitimacy.
Techub News, Aave Labs announced that its subsidiary Push has obtained Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization from the Central Bank of Ireland under MiCAR, making Aave Labs one of the first DeFi developers in Europe to operate under this new framework. Aave Labs will soon launch regulated, zero-interest GHO and other stablecoins integrated into Aave Labs products for deposit and withdrawal channels in the European Economic Area (EEA) through its new service Push.
Techub News, Aave Labs has acquired San Francisco-based startup Stable Finance, which focuses on simplifying on-chain savings services. This acquisition brings Stable Finance founder Mario Baxter Cabrera and his engineering team into Aave Labs, with Cabrera serving as Product Director to assist in building consumer-facing DeFi products. Aave Labs founder Stani Kulechov stated that this acquisition reinforces the company's goal of transforming on-chain finance into everyday finance. Stable's technology will be integrated into future Aave Labs products, and its existing applications will be gradually phased out.
Techub News, according to Cointelegraph, Aave Labs has proposed splitting Aave's bug bounty program across three platforms: Immunefi, Sherlock, and Cantina. Aave is a leading lending protocol in the DeFi space, with its TVL consistently ranking among the top in the market. The split of the bug bounty program aims to enhance protocol security through multi-platform coverage, expand the channels for white-hat hacker participation, and further strengthen the ecosystem's security protection mechanisms.
Techub News, according to Cointelegraph, on April 25, Aave Labs proposed that the Arbitrum DAO unfreeze $73 million in Ethereum related to the Kelp DAO attack case and redirect it to the "DeFi United" fund to compensate victims. However, law firm Gerstein Harrow has filed for a restraining order to block the action, claiming that its clients have legitimate claims to funds stolen by North Korean hackers. Arbitrum DAO member Zeptimus stated that if the law firm's action succeeds, North Korea's debt will be shifted onto Kelp DAO victims. The law firm had previously made similar claims regarding frozen funds in the 2023 Heco Bridge hack and has filed class-action lawsuits against multiple DAOs. On-chain investigator ZachXBT accused the firm of using his research findings to assert ownership over stolen funds from Bybit. It is reported that North Korean-linked hackers allegedly stole at least $578 million in April alone.
