Aave Labs proposes to unfreeze Kelp DAO funds to compensate victims

Techub News, according to Cointelegraph, on April 25, Aave Labs proposed that the Arbitrum DAO unfreeze $73 million in Ethereum related to the Kelp DAO attack case and redirect it to the "DeFi United" fund to compensate victims. However, law firm Gerstein Harrow has filed for a restraining order to block the action, claiming that its clients have legitimate claims to funds stolen by North Korean hackers. Arbitrum DAO member Zeptimus stated that if the law firm's action succeeds, North Korea's debt will be shifted onto Kelp DAO victims. The law firm had previously made similar claims regarding frozen funds in the 2023 Heco Bridge hack and has filed class-action lawsuits against multiple DAOs. On-chain investigator ZachXBT accused the firm of using his research findings to assert ownership over stolen funds from Bybit. It is reported that North Korean-linked hackers allegedly stole at least $578 million in April alone.
