Techub News reports that Erik Zhang, founder and core developer of Neo, has publicly accused Neo founder Da Hongfei of failing to fulfill his promise to disclose relevant financial reports to the public. He called on Da Hongfei to release a complete and verifiable financial report to the community, including a detailed list of all assets managed by the Neo Foundation (NF) and a breakdown of all expenditures. Furthermore, Erik Zhang stated that according to a clear agreement reached in their most recent phone conversation, Da Hongfei would focus on the operation and development of NeoX and SpoonOS starting January 1, 2026, and would no longer be involved in matters related to the Neo mainnet. In response, Da Hongfei posted a reply, stating that it is Erik Zhang who controls the vast majority of Neo's funds and influences the voting of consensus nodes. He said, "A blockchain project cannot be controlled by one person. For years, I have urged Erik (Neo founder and core developer) to transfer the NEO/GAS tokens from his personal custody to a multi-signature address of the NF—where he would still remain a key holder. However, he has always found excuses to delay this process. Recently, he told me the transfer would be completed around the time of the N3 migration. Until now, I have avoided mentioning this publicly to maintain public trust and to allow space for an orderly resolution. I remained silent because I hoped he would honor his commitment. Now, my restraint has been misunderstood. I should have done this earlier."
