Charles Hoskinson: Leios upgrade proposal enters DReps approval process

Techub News reports, according to Bitcoinist, that Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson posted on X platform saying "Leios is coming." Input Output has submitted a funding proposal worth ₳27.71 million, aimed at advancing Leios from a testnet prototype to a mainnet-ready release candidate, which is expected to increase network transaction capacity by 10 to 65 times. The proposal was initiated by Carlos Lopez de Lara and Sebastian Nagel, requesting a treasury grant of ₳27,714,342 for six to nine months of development. If approved, Leios will enhance the existing Ouroboros Praos consensus by introducing endorsement blocks and a committee verification mechanism, with the goal of completing mainnet integration by the fourth quarter of 2026, supporting Cardano's scalability target of processing 27 million transactions per month by 2030.
