Chairman Michael Selig of the U.S. CFTC establishes an innovation committee and introduces CEOs from cryptocurrency and prediction markets as founding members.

Techub News reported, according to The Block, Michael Selig, the new chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has renamed the Technology Advisory Committee to the "Innovation Advisory Committee" and plans to appoint members of the "Chief Executive Officer Innovation Council" as founding members of this committee. The report noted that this committee was initiated by former CFTC Acting Chairman Caroline Pham, with members including Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan, Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour, and Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss, among others. Selig stated that innovators are using technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud computing to modernize the financial system, and the committee will formulate market structure regulatory rules that better align with practical needs in line with this direction.
