The "Hong Kong-Korea 'Web3 Policy Promotion Alliance' Preparatory Committee Inauguration and 2026GWDC Korea Station Launch Event" will be held online on March 23 (Monday) at 14:00 (UTC+8). This event will be conducted via Zoom, featuring simultaneous Chinese-English interpretation and will be livestreamed to Web3 enthusiasts worldwide.
This launch event brings together key representatives from the political and industrial sectors. Policy promoters include Wu Jiezhuang, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong's Commerce and Innovation Technology Committee; as well as Min Byung-duk, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, proposer of the Korean Digital Asset Basic Act bill, and member of the National Assembly's Steering Committee. Industry representatives such as Caspar Wong, Suk-hun Yoon, Justin Sun, Alex Chung-hyun Park, and Lee Jae-won will also attend to jointly explore the development path of Web3 under the context of regional collaboration.
The Hong Kong-Korea "Web3 Policy Promotion Alliance" is a cross-regional non-governmental cooperation platform jointly initiated by legislators from both regions. It aims to promote collaborative development on key issues such as digital asset regulation, stablecoin mechanisms, blockchain infrastructure interconnection, and regulatory standards alignment. Against the backdrop of the deep integration of global AI and digital assets, the establishment of this alliance will be seen as a significant signal of accelerated policy system linkage for Web3 in Asia.
Against the backdrop of intensifying regional competition, Hong Kong is accelerating the construction of an international digital asset hub, while South Korea is actively refining its legislative and regulatory systems to compete for leadership in Asia-Pacific Web3 development. The establishment of this alliance marks a new phase for both sides, moving from "independent advancement" to "policy coordination," and also injects new imaginative space into the digital economic landscape of Asia and even the world.
