Techub News, according to Decrypt, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has sent a letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, demanding that the company fully disclose its stablecoin-related plans and details of third-party partners before the Senate votes on the Clarity Act, and must respond by May 20.
She warned that, given Meta's 3.5 billion global users, its stablecoin payment plans could have serious implications for competition, privacy, and financial stability. Last month, Meta launched a USDC creator payment program, and in 2019, it attempted to launch the Libra stablecoin but abandoned the effort due to congressional opposition.
