U.S. Treasury Sanctions 10 Individuals and 1 Entity for North Korean IT Worker Fraud Scheme

Techub News reported that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today sanctions against 10 individuals and 1 entity for their involvement in a North Korean government-run IT worker fraud scheme. The scheme uses forged documents, identity theft, and fictitious identities to place North Korean IT workers in legitimate companies in the United States and its allies, defrauding American businesses and generating revenue for North Korea's illicit weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs. @USTreasury tweeted that North Korea continues to rely on such fraudulent methods to conceal the identities of its IT workers.
