MARA reported a loss of $1.7 billion in the fourth quarter and established an AI joint venture with Starwood.

Techub News reported, according to The Block, Bitcoin mining company MARA posted a net loss of $1.7 billion in the fourth quarter of last year, primarily due to a negative fair value change of $1.5 billion in digital assets caused by the decline in Bitcoin price. Additionally, its Q4 revenue was $202.3 million, a 6% year-over-year decrease. Despite its energy hash rate increasing by 25% year-over-year to 66.4 EH/s, the company mined only 2,011 Bitcoins in the quarter, down from 2,144 in the third quarter. As of the end of last year, MARA held 53,822 Bitcoins, valued at approximately $4.7 billion, with about 28% of them being lent out or staked, generating $32.1 million in interest income for 2025.

Meanwhile, MARA announced a joint venture with Starwood Capital Group to build data centers focused on artificial intelligence. Following the announcement, its stock price rose over 15% in after-hours trading.
