The Federal Bureau of Investigation: Fake tokens impersonating the FBI have appeared on the Tron network.

Techub News reported, according to The Block, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warning, alerting the public to beware of fake tokens impersonating the FBI on the Tron network. This scam utilizes the TRC-20 token standard to send so-called "FBI tokens" to users' wallets, and then coerces users into providing personal information on phishing websites under the pretext of violating anti-money laundering regulations and freezing assets. It is currently unclear how many users have been affected.

The FBI's New York Field Office urges users to remain highly vigilant regarding such tokens and directs victims to report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The FBI noted in a 2024 report that losses related to cryptocurrency scams amounted to billions of dollars, a 45% increase compared to 2022.
