President of Citadel Securities: "Will absolutely keep a close eye on" the development of prediction markets

Techub News, according to Cointelegraph, Citadel Securities President Jim Esposito stated at the Semafor conference in Washington D.C. that the company is "absolutely keeping a close eye on" the development of prediction markets. "We're not there yet, the liquidity isn't quite there," he added, but said the market is likely to "scale up gradually" and it is "certainly possible" to consider participating. Esposito said Citadel is "not looking at sports at all right now, I don't think we'll be in that market," but he did express interest in certain event contracts. He added that Citadel's retail and institutional clients might use certain event contracts, such as election contracts, to hedge investment risks.
