Techub News reports that Vitalik Buterin published an article discussing design ideas for creator tokens, pointing out that over the past decade, the cryptocurrency industry has achieved limited overall effectiveness in the field of content incentives. The core issue is not a shortage of content supply but rather insufficient mechanisms for screening and discovering high-quality content. In the current context where AI can generate large volumes of content at low cost, the industry's goal should shift from "incentivizing more content" to "identifying and amplifying high-quality content." Vitalik believes that Substack is a relatively successful case of creator incentives today, with its key advantage lying in the platform's proactive screening and support of high-quality creators, rather than relying solely on mechanism design. He notes that existing creator token projects generally suffer from the structural problem of "high-social-influence users dominating the rankings," rather than genuinely reflecting content quality. In terms of solutions, Vitalik proposes establishing a non-tokenized creator DAO, where members vote to screen creators, while maintaining clear content positioning and scale control to build a stable brand and commercial bargaining power. At the same time, creators would be allowed to issue personal tokens. If a creator joins the creator DAO, the DAO's revenue could be used to repurchase and burn the creator's tokens, transforming the role of speculators into "predictors of high-quality creators," thereby reducing pure speculative cycles and improving the efficiency of high-quality content screening. Vitalik stated that future effective governance mechanisms may increasingly combine prediction markets with multi-party governance structures to enhance the system's resistance to manipulation and goal alignment.
