The UK FCA is soliciting feedback on cryptocurrency regulations, with the new rules proposed to take effect in October 2027.

Techub News reports that the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking feedback on its interpretation of specific digital asset regulatory activities under its crypto roadmap. This consultation covers how activities such as stablecoin issuance, trading platforms, custody, and staking will be brought within the regulatory perimeter. The consultation will close on June 3, 2026, and crypto firms can apply for FCA authorization starting from September 30, 2026.

The FCA stated that the consultation on the rules for the future cryptoasset regime is largely complete, and a policy statement will be published this summer. Until the new legislative regime is implemented in 2027, cryptoassets remain largely unregulated in the UK, except for financial promotion and financial crime purposes.
