Two Israeli brothers indicted for alleged cryptocurrency espionage for Iran

Techub News reports, according to Ynet, two brothers in their 20s from the Jerusalem area have been indicted by Israeli prosecutors on charges including contacting a foreign agent, transferring information to the enemy, providing information that could benefit the enemy, and impersonation. The two contacted Iranian agents via Telegram in 2025, with one proactively making contact and agreeing to carry out tasks in exchange for cryptocurrency payments, later recruiting his brother. They used AI to forge military intelligence documents, impersonated Israeli soldiers, and sent forged military documents (including fake documents bearing unit insignias) in exchange for cryptocurrency payments, with single payments gradually increasing from thousands of shekels to approximately 10,000 shekels. The prosecution has requested the detention of both until the end of the trial and the confiscation of related assets, with one already ordered by the court to be held in custody pending trial.
