California regulators fined Bitcoin ATM operator Coinhub $675,000

Techub News, according to Decrypt, the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has fined bitcoin ATM operator Coinhub $675,000 for violations of the Digital Financial Asset Law (DFAL), of which $105,000 will be returned to affected California consumers who were overcharged. The DFPI noted that since 2024, Coinhub has committed multiple violations, including: charging fees exceeding the statutory cap, allowing cash transactions beyond the daily $1,000 limit, withdrawal credentials missing critical information, and failing to provide the required legal disclaimer before transactions.
