Ethereum Foundation and Open Anonymity Launch zkAPI to Hide API Payment Identities Using Zero-Knowledge Proofs

Techub News reports that the Ethereum Foundation and the Open Anonymity Project have launched zkAPI, which uses zero-knowledge proofs to separate API usage from payment identity and is now live on the Ethereum mainnet. Users can deposit assets such as ETH or USDC into an on-chain Vault, and then authorize the use of the API for a single session or multiple sessions through zero-knowledge proofs. Service providers can verify the validity of the payment but cannot know the specific source of the deposit or the identity of the payer, and the payment layer cannot see the content of the request. This solution is currently mainly used for AI inference but can also be extended to services such as RPC and image generation.
