22% of American Adults Have Used Cryptocurrency, 12-Month Usage Rate Stable at 13%

Techub News reports that a survey conducted by polling agency Ipsos for the crypto policy advocacy group DeFi Education Fund shows that 22% of American adults have ever owned or used cryptocurrency, up from 18% in 2025. The usage rate over the past 12 months remained steady at 13%. The growth mainly comes from former users: the proportion of Americans who have used cryptocurrency but not in the past year increased from 5% to 11%. Only 4% highly trust cryptocurrency exchanges, and just 2% are very familiar with DeFi; 40% say they might at least try DeFi if accessible. (Decrypt)
