Maya holds a digital bank license from the Philippine central bank (BSP), offering savings, consumer loans, payments, and merchant services, while also providing in-app cryptocurrency trading functions under the regulated virtual asset service provider (VASP) framework; the proportion of its crypto business revenue/trading volume has not been disclosed. The report stated that some users have previously reported issues such as the trading buttons for certain tokens being "grayed out/temporarily unavailable" during periods of high market volatility.
