Techub News reports that Tether has announced the launch of its self-custodial digital wallet, tether.wallet, which currently supports USD₮, USA₮, XAU₮, and Bitcoin. Users can send funds using simple, readable identifiers (e.g., name@tether.me), eliminating the need to enter long and error-prone wallet addresses, thereby reducing the risk of irreversible mistakes. Transactions do not require users to hold separate network or Gas tokens; fees are paid directly in the form of the transferred asset.
At launch, tether.wallet supports USD₮ on Ethereum, Polygon, Plasma, and Arbitrum; XAU₮ on Ethereum, Polygon, Plasma, and Arbitrum; USA₮ on Ethereum; and Bitcoin on-chain and on the Lightning Network. Following the initial release, the wallet will add support for other blockchains.
