Central Bank of Brazil: Banks and brokerages engaging in cryptocurrency business must introduce independent third-party technical certification.

Techub News reports, according to Exame, the Central Bank of Brazil (BC) has issued a prescriptive normative document requiring banks, brokerages, and other institutions already under its supervision, if they intend to enter the cryptocurrency market, to additionally meet two core requirements: hire a "qualified independent technical certification company" to audit their disclosed information, and submit audited materials to prove the implementation of segregated management of client assets and proprietary assets. The new requirements will take effect from February 2 (with certain exemptions/exception arrangements for some institution types).
