The agency explicitly stated that the CFTC does not solicit funds, personal information, or digital assets from the public, nor does it provide fund recovery services. Over the past year, impersonation scams involving the U.S. government have caused $445 million in losses to Americans, with the elderly being the most frequently victimized group.
