Techub News reported, according to Cryptopolitan, Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform Party and a British Member of Parliament, has purchased £2 million (approximately $2.7 million) worth of Bitcoin through the listed Bitcoin treasury company Stack, becoming the first sitting British MP and party leader to publicly buy Bitcoin. Previously, Farage had invested £215,000 in Stack, chaired by former Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng, holding about 6% of the company's shares. Following this purchase of 37 Bitcoins, Stack's total holdings have reached 68 Bitcoins.
It is reported that Farage has also previously received substantial donations from BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo and crypto investor Christopher Harborne. Farage is currently committed to promoting the deregulation of the cryptocurrency industry, aiming to revitalize the UK's crypto sector. However, critics have expressed concerns, believing his investment involves a play for political influence.
