Zcash plans to launch a quantum-recoverable wallet within a month

Techub News, according to CoinJournal, Zcash plans to launch a quantum-recoverable wallet within about a month, aiming to achieve full quantum resistance by 2027. The upgrade is designed to protect user funds from future quantum computing threats, providing protection in the event that existing encryption methods may be compromised by quantum computers. The wallet serves as a transitional mechanism rather than an immediate quantum defense, offering users a recovery path in case future encryption becomes ineffective. The system includes a migration channel, allowing funds to be transferred to a post-quantum secure system when needed, avoiding forced manual migration or permanent loss of funds.
