Techub News, according to NewsBTC, Samourai Wallet co-founder Keonne Rodriguez has issued a plea for help from a federal prison, asking the Bitcoin community to donate funds to cover over $2 million in legal debts. Rodriguez is currently serving his sentence at the Federal Prison Camp in Morgantown, West Virginia, and the donation address he provided has received approximately $65,000. Rodriguez was arrested in April 2024, pleaded guilty in July 2025 to conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmission business, and was sentenced to 60 months in prison in November of the same year. His co-founder was sentenced to 4 years, and both were ordered to forfeit $6.37 million in fees. Rodriguez still needs to pay a $250,000 court fine, and hopes for a presidential pardon have been dashed.
