Informed sources: OpenAI plans to launch a real-person social network using World iris scanning or Face ID.

Techub News, according to Forbes citing informed sources, reports that OpenAI is secretly developing a social network aimed at addressing the bot issues faced by platforms like X. The project is still in its early stages and is managed by a small team of fewer than 10 people. The team is considering requiring users to provide "proof of personhood" for biometric verification, such as through Apple's Face ID or World's (formerly Worldcoin) Orb iris scanner, to ensure accounts are held by real humans. It is currently unclear how this social network will complement OpenAI's existing product portfolio, but informed sources say users will likely be able to leverage artificial intelligence to create content like videos or images on the platform.

Previously, Sam Altman expressed dissatisfaction with the surge of large language model-driven fake accounts on the X platform.
