Upbit Operator Dunamu CEO: Plans to Connect South Korean Users and Liquidity to the Global On-Chain Market

Techub News reported that Oh Kyoung-suk, CEO of Dunamu, the operator of South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, stated at KBW 2026 that the company's next phase will no longer be limited to the South Korean cryptocurrency trading market. Instead, it aims to integrate South Korea's vast digital asset users and liquidity into the global on-chain financial system. Dunamu plans to build shared infrastructure, enabling banks, securities firms, payment companies, and fintech firms to conduct compliant on-chain financial businesses without having to independently develop trading, custody, asset transfer, and anti-money laundering systems. The collaboration with Naver Financial will be the first step, with the goal of connecting Web3 financial infrastructure with Web2 users and payment scenarios like Naver. The two parties previously reached a comprehensive stock swap arrangement, and the relevant transaction is still pending approval from South Korean regulators. (WuBlockchain)
