Techub News reported, according to The Block, based on the final judgment issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. SEC has dismissed the charges it filed in 2023 against Tron founder Justin Sun, the Tron Foundation, and the BitTorrent Foundation. Rainberry, the company under Justin Sun's control that developed the BitTorrent protocol and BTT token, was fined a $10 million civil penalty and agreed to never engage in fraudulent securities market conduct.
In 2023, the SEC charged Justin Sun and his three affiliated companies with the unregistered sale of TRX and BTT tokens. Justin Sun was also charged with manipulating the price of TRX through wash trading and paying celebrities to promote the tokens without disclosing the compensation.
