Techub News, according to The Block, Hyperliquid is expected to activate the major protocol upgrade HIP-3 later today, which will support permissionless creation of perpetual futures markets.

Documents previously disclosed by the project show that HIP-3 will support developers in deploying perpetual contracts. Once HIP-3 is enabled, deployers only need to stake 500,000 HYPE tokens to launch a perpetual contract market permissionlessly on HyperCore. The documents indicate that this proposal integrates smart contracts with governance functions through HyperEVM and includes security measures such as a validator slashing mechanism and an open interest cap.
