OKX Founder Star Xu: Hyperliquid's Matching Engine Design is More Beneficial for Market Makers

Techub News reports that Star Xu, the founder of OKX, stated in the New Era Finance podcast that Hyperliquid is fundamentally different from traditional order book centralized exchanges in terms of technical design. Traditional exchanges process orders one by one, while Hyperliquid matches orders by block and prioritizes order cancellations within each block, allowing market makers to cancel orders before traders. Star Xu believes that this market maker-friendly design explains why Hyperliquid's order book depth appears superior to many centralized exchanges and provides another solution for illiquid long-tail assets.
