The UK FCA has sued HTX for illegally promoting crypto services and has requested social media platforms and app stores to block it.

Techub News reports, according to The Block, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has initiated legal proceedings against cryptocurrency exchange HTX, alleging that it has persistently promoted crypto asset services illegally to UK consumers, in violation of financial promotion rules. The FCA stated that HTX disseminated unauthorized financial promotion content through its official website and social media platforms such as TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Despite prior warnings, HTX continued to post in violation of the rules. The FCA pointed out that HTX's corporate structure is opaque and that multiple attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered. Currently, HTX has restricted new user registrations, but the FCA emphasized that existing UK users can still access the illegal promotional content, and this restriction is not permanent. The FCA has requested social media platforms to block HTX accounts for UK users and has asked the Apple and Google app stores to remove the HTX application in the UK. HTX has now been added to the FCA's warning list.
