Techub News, according to crypto.news, Tether's latest reserve attestation shows that the market capitalization of its gold-backed stablecoin XAUT has exceeded $3.3 billion, with approximately 707,747 ounces of gold held in reserves as of March 31, 2026, a 36% increase compared to the end of 2025.
This growth is primarily driven by safe-haven demand, including geopolitical tensions and rising gold prices. Tether's total gold holdings (including USDT reserves) have reached approximately 132 tons, valued at around $19.8 billion. The company plans to allocate 10%–15% of its non-Treasury investment portfolio to physical gold.
