PayPal: Nearly 40% of Merchants Already Accept Cryptocurrency Payments, Adoption Rate Among Companies with Annual Revenue Over $500 Million is Approximately 50%

Techub News reports, according to a PayPal survey, nearly four out of ten (39%) merchants have already accepted cryptocurrency payments, and 84% of merchants believe crypto payments will become widespread within the next five years. The survey was conducted in late October 2025, covering approximately 620 "payment strategy decision-makers." Data shows that the adoption of crypto payments is primarily driven by large enterprises, with about 50% of companies with annual revenues exceeding $500 million already accepting crypto payments; additionally, about 90% of merchants indicated they would be willing to try crypto payments if the user experience and integration process could be comparable to card payments.
