The Trump family's WLTC Holdings has applied to the OCC for a national trust bank charter.

Techub News, according to Cointelegraph, WLTC Holdings, a subsidiary of the Trump family-backed crypto platform World Liberty Financial, has submitted an application for a national trust bank charter to the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The application would allow the trust bank to issue, custody, and convert stablecoins under federal supervision without relying on third-party service providers. World Liberty stated that institutional clients are already using USD1 for cross-border payments, settlement, and financial operations, and the trust charter would help integrate issuance, custody, and conversion services under a regulated entity.
