Techub News reported, according to The Block, Ilya Lichtenstein, a person involved in the Bitfinex hacking case, stated that he has been released from prison early, claiming on social media that this was "thanks to" the criminal justice reform bill "First Step Act" passed in 2018. Public information shows he was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges including money laundering related to the Bitcoin stolen from Bitfinex in 2016. He is currently under home confinement.
