Bitcoin Core releases v30, increasing OP_RETURN data limit to 100,000 bytes

Techub News, according to Cointelegraph, Bitcoin Core developers have released version 30. The core changes include: introducing optional encrypted connections between nodes to enhance privacy protection, and increasing the OP_RETURN data limit in Bitcoin Core software from 80 bytes to 100,000 bytes, significantly expanding the amount of non-financial data that can be embedded in Bitcoin transactions. Although this update also includes bug fixes, performance optimizations, and fee rate adjustments, the community is divided due to the substantial increase in the OP_RETURN data limit. In particular, Bitcoin purists argue that the network should only be used for financial transactions.
