Techub News reports, according to Bloomberg Law, FTX investors filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Silicon Valley law firm Fenwick & West LLP, alleging that as FTX's long-term external legal counsel, it knowingly assisted in creating shell companies and communication control mechanisms to conceal evidence, despite being aware that the exchange was misappropriating billions of dollars in customer assets.
Fenwick & West served as FTX's primary external legal counsel for years until the exchange collapsed in 2022. FTX founder Samuel Bankman-Fried has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for fraud and money laundering. The plaintiffs claim to have lost their life savings due to FTX's collapse, and the lawsuit is currently ongoing.
