Mastercard plans to acquire stablecoin infrastructure company BVNK for up to $1.8 billion

Techub News, according to Bloomberg, Mastercard plans to acquire the stablecoin infrastructure startup BVNK for up to approximately $1.8 billion, including $300 million in contingent consideration. BVNK is headquartered in London and had negotiations with Coinbase last year regarding an acquisition of around $2 billion, but the discussions were terminated by both parties in November. Mastercard has recently established a global partnership network with over 85 digital asset and crypto-related companies. This transaction will further strengthen its layout in stablecoin payment and settlement infrastructure.
