UK Reform Party leader Nigel faces compliance investigation over undisclosed $6.7 million grant from Tether shareholder

Techub News, according to CoinDesk, Nigel Farage, leader of the British Reform Party, is facing a parliamentary standards review for failing to disclose a grant of approximately £5 million (around $6.7 million) received from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne before being elected as a member of parliament in 2024. Christopher Harborne holds a 12% stake in Tether.

Nigel Farage stated that the grant was a "personal unconditional gift" received before becoming an MP and claimed that his decision to run for parliament was "completely unrelated" to the matter. However, the Conservative Party and the Labour Party have accused him of violating House of Commons rules requiring MPs to declare income received within 12 months before their election and have referred the matter to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards for investigation.
